Bruce Gorder UCSD 5K Walk for Melanoma
Where: UC San Diego campus
This annual fall event on the beautiful UC San Diego campus helps build the public's awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection of melanoma. The walk is named for Bruce Brunner Gorder, who was 37 when he died from melanoma in 1992, leaving a wife and young daughter. To honor Bruce’s courage and his memory, his father Charles F. “Chuck” Gorder Sr. and family founded the Bruce Gorder UCSD 5k Walk for Melanoma. This walk raises funds to directly support melanoma research at the Moores Cancer Center.
