DNA Vaccine
In the past, we have used DNA-based vaccines to treat tumors in mouse models. We have found that the tumor suppression effect of DNA vaccines can be enhanced by specific co-stimulatory molecules that augment the CD8 cytotoxic T lymphocyte response directed against tumor antigens. Recently, in collaboration with Dr. Dennis Carson, we have evaluated the efficacy of R-etodolac in treating prostate cancer in vitro and in the mouse model. R-etodolac was fed to TRAMP mice and it was found that they had lower incidence of metastatic spread of their prostate cancer. We are currently investigating anti-frizzled therapies in several mouse tumor models.
