Our research has focused on the prevention of prostate, colorectal and breast cancers. We are currently involved in two large federal government sponsored clinical trials: The Women's Health Initiative (WHI) and the Prevention of Prostate Cancer using Selenium and Vitamin E clinical trial (SELECT).

The WHI is testing the efficacy of dietary modification as well as vitamin D and calcium supplementation on the reduction of breast and colorectal carcinoma in women. The SELECT study is testing if supplementation with vitamin E and/or selenium can reduce the incidence of prostate cancer in men over the age of 50.

Our future research plans include exploring the potential reduction in colorectal cancer incidence using aspirin.
