Their aim is to implement and evaluate a nursing intervention entitled, “Learning the Facts about Breast Cancer Risk”.
The goals of this nursing intervention are three-fold:
1) to design and implement a culturally sensitive referral program for high risk cancer genetic risk assessment and counseling for Korean American women;
2) to design and implement a process of collecting research data for the first Korean American-Familial Breast Cancer Registry (KA-FBCR); and
3) to provide culturally sensitive cancer genetic risk assessment, education and genetic counseling for Korean American women at highest risk of breast cancer.
