Research Interests:
Dr. Wingard's primary research interest is in the combined effect of psychosocial and biological factors on health, with a particular focus on women's health. Research activities are based on vital statistics, data from large prospective population-based studies including Rancho Bernardo, California, cohorts of Filipina and African American women, and the Millenium Cohort of US military personnel.

With support of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, she is participating in a project to increase access to palliative cancer care among Native Americans in Southern California.

Dr. Wingard also serves as a research consultant to DES Action, a support group for individuals exposed to DES while pregnant or while in utero (both groups at increased risk of cancer).
