For Laboratory Analysis
  • HPLC methodologies for analysis of carotenoids (beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, lycopene, lutein + zeaxanthin), tocopherols, retinoids, vitamin D compounds, other vitamins, homocysteine, curcumin, and tetrahydrocurcumin in biological samples
  • Enzymatic methodologies for plasma total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triacylglycerol analysis
  • HPLC measurement of peptides and glutathione
  • HPLC/mass spectrometry instrumentation and capabilities
  • Consultation: We welcome the opportunity to work with investigators to develop or adapt new analytic methodologies to detect and quantify biomarkers, chemopreventive or therapeutic agents, or other biological metabolites of importance to their projects.

For Dietary Assessment and Counseling

  • Collection and analysis of 24-hour dietary recall data
  • Collection and analysis of food frequency and dietary screener data
  • Collection and analysis of dietary supplement intake data
  • Design, implementation, and analysis of telephone counseling interventions
  • Assist other researchers in study designs involving dietary assessment and telephone counseling interventions
Overview of the Shared Resource:
This is a value added service for investigators conducting peer-reviewed studies or pilot projects that address nutritional or dietary factors, or who are conducting clinical laboratory or epidemiological studies that would benefit by the assessment and monitoring of nutritional factors in addressing the research question.
