| Teaches cancer patients about post-operative lymphedema prevention. We will teach you about lymphedema signs and symptoms, exercises, manual drainage and resources. Lymphedema can affect quality of life, mobility, skin tissue integrity and health. Even though there are no proven preventative guidelines, it helps to learn precautions. Knowledge and awareness can assist patients in dealing with this and knowing how to help themselves. |

| This hands-on workshop is designed to help female cancer patients learn how to enhance their appearance through the use of wigs, makeup and accessories. All participants receive a complimentary kit of cosmetics to use during the program and take home for their personal use. The program is offered as a partnership of the ACS, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation, and the National Cosmetology Association. Reservations are requested, as space is limited to 10 patients per session. |

Healing Foods Kitchen Cooking Classes

Each month, learn about a different topic in nutrition and wellness. Learn how to prepare easy and healthy recipes using foods that promote health and help fight disease. Classes include a demonstration, discussion about ingredients, recipes, tasting and educational handouts.

This program is designed to help you adopt a diet that will promote health and fight disease. Based on research conducted at UCSD, a nutritious diet can help you look and feel better, as well as help control weight.
