Founded in 1979, it is the only center in San Diego and Imperial counties to hold the National Cancer Center Institute designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, and is one of just 41 such centers in the United States. It ranks among the top centers in the nation conducting basic and clinical cancer research, providing advanced patient care, and serving the community through outreach and education programs. Video: Transforming Cancer Therapy With Personalized Medicine
Our goal is to transform cancer therapy by matching patients with the best drug for their particular tumor. Personalized therapy is here, but we need help from our donors to keep advancing the field and getting these cutting-edge drugs to patients as rapidly as possible. This video — which features UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center leaders Scott Lippman, MD, Barbara Parker, MD, and Razelle Kurzrock, MD, as well as patients and philanthropists — was first broadcast at the 2013 Moores Cancer Center gala.
